A national waste and recycling company is hiring a licensed 310T Mechanic for its Chatham, Ontario shop, maintaining a fleet of diesel collection trucks. Schedule: - Rotating shifts every two weeks: 5:00am - 2:30pm, or 2:00pm - 11:30pm - On-call Saturday rotation What you'll do: - Perform repairs, inspections, safety checks, and diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on diesel vehicles - Use vehicle computer systems to interpret failure modes and adjust engine and vehicle control modules - Respond to road calls for emergency repairs - Review and complete repairs from driver vehicle inspection reports - Complete paperwork in fleet maintenance software - Test drive trucks after service and repair - Support teammates on repairs and work professionally with drivers - Work to Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Environment and company safety standards What you bring: - Licensed 310T Mechanic - Comfortable with diesel diagnostic tools, preventive maintenance and repair - Basic tool set - Heavy equipment (yellow iron) knowledge and hydraulic experience are assets - Able to meet all pre-employment requirements What's offered: - $44.59/hr - Retirement plan with company match - Medical, dental and vision benefits - Life insurance, short-term and long-term disability - Employee assistance program, scholarship opportunities and an employee stock purchase plan
