A national environmental services company is hiring a 310T Technician for its Ottawa, Ontario shop, maintaining and repairing a diesel collection fleet. This is an in-shop role — trucks are typically towed back rather than repaired roadside. Schedule: - Two-week rotation between day shift and afternoon shift - Days start between 5:00am and 7:00am; afternoons start between 1:00pm and 4:00pm - 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch; $2/hr premium on afternoons What you'll do: - Perform repairs, inspections, safety checks, and diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on diesel vehicles - Use vehicle computer electrical systems to interpret failure modes and adjust engine and vehicle control modules - Complete safety inspections and address issues identified on DVIRs - Maintain accurate records of work performed Requirements: - Licensed 310T Truck & Coach Technician preferred; a completed apprenticeship is also considered - Intermediate to advanced communication skills - AZ or DZ licence is an asset, not required - A clean driver's abstract (no offence over 3 points in the last 3-5 years) Compensation and benefits: - $49.32/hr for a fully licensed technician - $5,000 signing bonus for fully licensed technicians - $2/hr shift premium on afternoons - Medical, dental, vision, STD and LTD - RRSP matching at 5% - Stock purchase at a preferred rate - Annual tool allowance ($1,200) and boot allowance - Paid vacation, EAP program - Manufacturer engine training, defensive driving and fleet systems training
