A truck dealership is hiring a 310T Truck & Coach Technician for its Kitchener location. You'll perform maintenance, safeties and repairs on medium and heavy-duty trucks, keeping them safe and reliable. Licensed 310T technicians and 2nd or 3rd year apprentices (under a valid Registered 310T Training Agreement with Skilled Trades Ontario or equivalent) are both encouraged to apply. Schedule: - Set 8-hour shifts, flexible within shop hours (shop runs 7am - 1am, Monday to Friday) - Guaranteed 40 hours per week; overtime at time-and-a-half after 44 hours - Non-unionized shop What you'll do: - Routine maintenance, safety inspections and repairs on heavy-duty trucks (diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension and electrical systems) - Diagnose and troubleshoot using advanced diagnostic tools - Use manufacturer service manuals and technical data - Communicate with customers about the work needed - Attend manufacturer and dealer training (paid, both at work and at home) Requirements: - Licensed 310T Truck & Coach Technician, or a 2nd/3rd year apprentice under a valid Registered 310T Training Agreement - Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record - Your own hand tools - Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills - Legally entitled to work in Canada, and comfortable completing a background check Compensation and benefits: - $34.00 to $55.50/hr based on experience - Monthly proficiency bonus of up to $1,000 based on efficiency metrics - Signing bonus of up to $2,000 based on license and years of experience - Annual tool ($300) and boot ($200) allowances - Benefits after 3 months, 50/50 employer/employee split (80-100% coverage depending on service) - Manufacturer training provided, with paid time both at work and at home
