A national waste and recycling company is hiring a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic for its Boisbriand shop, north of Montreal. It's a unionized shop on the evening shift, maintaining a fleet of heavy trucks and equipment. The team works in French. Schedule: - Evenings, 3:00pm-11:30pm - Overtime available - Permanent, full-time, unionized What you'll do: - Regular inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy trucks and equipment - Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic faults - Keep clear records of work done and parts replaced - Follow safety standards in the shop What you bring: - Heavy vehicle mechanics diploma (DEP) or equivalent experience - Heavy truck experience, including diagnostics and hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems - Class 5 licence (Class 3 an asset) - Your own basic tool box - French (francophone team) - Canadian citizenship, permanent residence or an open work permit (no sponsorship) What's offered: - $32 to $37 per hour under the collective agreement, plus specialty premiums - $1,100 annual tool allowance; protective equipment provided - Retirement plan with company contribution - Medical, dental and vision, life and disability insurance, EAP and an employee stock purchase plan
