A national waste and recycling company is hiring a Mobile Heavy Truck Mechanic in Laval. You'll service the diesel truck fleet in the field from a mobile service unit, and work from the Laval shop between service calls. The team works in French. Schedule: - Monday to Friday, 5am-2pm or 10am-7pm depending on operations - Overtime available - Permanent, full-time What you'll do: - Preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks at sites and on the road - Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic faults with field diagnostic tools - Work from the Laval shop when there are no service calls - Work independently while staying in touch with the team - Keep clear inspection and work records What you bring: - Heavy vehicle mechanics diploma (DEP) or equivalent experience - Heavy truck experience, including diagnostics and hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems - Class 5 licence (Class 3 an asset) and comfort driving a service unit - Your own basic tool box - French (francophone team) - Canadian citizenship, permanent residence or an open work permit (no sponsorship) What's offered: - From $32 per hour depending on experience, plus skill premiums of up to $4/hr - 3 weeks of vacation from year one - $1,000 annual tool allowance; uniforms and safety gear provided - Full insurance and a retirement plan with employer contribution - Ongoing training and career progression
