A major North American trucking carrier is hiring a Mobile Trailer Technician for its Regina, Saskatchewan operation. This is a road-service position: there's no shop in this region, so you'll run the Mobile Repair Unit from a company truck and work on trailers in the yard and in the field. Work is outdoors in all seasons. Schedule: - Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm - Day shift, no rotating nights What you'll do: - Complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the trailer fleet - Diagnose problems found during inspections and prescribe the correct remedial action - Work alongside the Service Coordinator, trailer mechanics and tractor mechanics - Perform safety inspections - Enter work orders (basic computer work) and support apprentices in the shop What you bring: - Licensed heavy-duty mechanic, or a valid CVIP inspection licence (or willingness to obtain one) - 2-3 years minimum working on trailers - Strong diagnostic and time-management skills - Comfortable working unsupervised and outdoors year-round - Clean driver's abstract - Able to stand, walk, twist, bend, climb, crawl and lift up to 50 lbs What's offered: - $40 - $50/hr - $5,000 signing bonus for licensed technicians - Company truck and Mobile Repair Unit - RRSP matching - 1% of annual salary in year one, 2% in year two - Annual tool ($350) and boot ($150) allowances - Flexible health and dental plan, group life and disability insurance, AD&D - Paid personal leave days
