A major North American trucking carrier is hiring a licensed Tractor Technician for its Calgary-area shop on a Monday-Thursday day shift. Journeyman and Red Seal technicians only. Preventative-maintenance focused shop working mainly on Freightliner, Mack, Volvo and Peterbilt.
A major North American trucking carrier is hiring a licensed Tractor Technician for its Calgary-area shop. You'll work with the Service Coordinator and the tractor and trailer technicians to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the fleet, diagnosing problems found during inspections and prescribing the correct remedial action. The shop focuses on preventative maintenance - major repair work goes to the dealership. Schedule: - Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm - Day shift What you'll do: - Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on highway tractors - Diagnose issues found during inspections and carry out the correct repairs - Complete safety inspections - Enter work orders (paperless system, basic computer skills) - Support and encourage apprentices through their apprenticeship What you bring: - Licensed Tractor Technician - fully journeyman or Red Seal (this role is not open to apprentices) - Experience working on tractors as a heavy equipment technician - Qualification to perform safeties is mandatory - Strong diagnostic and time-management abilities - Valid driver's licence and clean driver's abstract - Able to stand, walk, twist, bend, climb, crawl and lift up to 50 lbs What's offered: - $35 - $41/hr - RRSP matching - 1% of annual salary in year one, 2% in year two - Annual tool ($350) and boot ($150) allowances - Flexible health and dental plan, group life and disability insurance, AD&D - Paid personal leave days - Clean, well-run shop with wash-bay support staff
