A major North American trucking carrier is hiring a Tractor-Trailer Technician for its Auburn, Maine shop. You'll keep the fleet safe and reliable through preventative maintenance and timely repairs on highway tractors and trailers, working out of a clean, well-maintained facility and mentoring junior mechanics. Schedule: - 4x10 work weeks (Monday-Thursday or Thursday-Sunday), 1st and 2nd shifts - Flexible day starts between 6-7am, or afternoon starts at 4-5pm - $1/hr shift premium on afternoons What you'll do: - Perform preventative maintenance on all fleet equipment (highway tractors and trailers) - Diagnose issues found during inspections and carry out the correct repairs - Complete repairs from pre/post-trip and quick-check inspections efficiently - Enter work orders, keep the shop clean, and support the maintenance team What you bring: - Experience with all makes and types of heavy-duty diesel tractors and trailers - Valid driver's license - Comfortable entering work orders on a computer; good communication and a professional attitude - Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces - A one-year technical-school certificate is an asset (or equivalent experience/training) What's offered: - $30-$36/hr based on experience, plus $1/hr afternoon shift premium - $1,000 annual tool allowance and up to $200 boot reimbursement - 2% 401(k) matching - Flexible health, dental, and vision plan; group life insurance; paid time off - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and education reimbursement / career development
