A national truckload carrier with more than 50 years in business is hiring a licensed Truck & Trailer Mechanic for its Mississauga shop. The shop focuses on preventative maintenance and safeties, with major repairs sent out to the dealer, and a wash bay team cleans units before they reach your bay. Schedule: - Day shift, 4x10s: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm - Permanent, full-time What you'll do: - Preventative maintenance, inspections and safeties on a tractor and trailer fleet (Freightliner, Mack, Volvo and Peterbilt) - Diagnose issues found during inspections and carry out the right repair - Complete work orders on the computer - Work alongside the service coordinator and the tractor and trailer teams - Help coach and develop apprentices What you bring: - Licensed 310T or 310J (journeyperson / Red Seal); this role is not open to apprentices - Qualified to perform safeties - Strong diagnostic and time-management skills - Basic computer skills for work orders - A clean driver's abstract (a minor speeding ticket is fine) What's offered: - $35.00 to $41.00 per hour - $5,000 sign-on bonus for licensed technicians - RRSP matching (1% of salary in year one, 2% in year two) - Annual tool ($350) and boot ($150) allowances - Health and dental, life and disability insurance, EFAP and paid personal days - Education reimbursement and career development
